Changing The Culture
Our culture has a male identity crisis. How can we reach young men and boys? What could it be like if every young man went through a ceremony on the way to manhood? Would they be more likely to participate in the church of the future?
Bull is a one year program for fathers and sons or group of males. Bull can help a young male achieve manhood. Getting a church or men volunteers to step in could make the difference the church has been looking for.
Our Statement of Faith
At Knights21, we believe in God, who is the Creator of all things, and in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son. Jesus is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man (John 1:1-2, 14). All things have been created by Him and for Him (Colossians 1:15-20). Jesus was born of a virgin, lived among mankind, and although tempted in all ways, He alone was without sin (Hebrews 7:24-28). He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified and died in payment for our sins. He rose again and ascended into heaven, and from there he will come to judge both the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit (The Apostles’ Creed), who has been given to us by God and is one with God the Father and the Son (Ephesians 2:18-22). He dwells in the believer (2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Galatians 4:6), and carries out God’s will through the church, which is the collective body of Christ (Ephesians 4:4-6). The Holy Spirit has spoken through the prophets and the apostles in Holy Scripture, which is God’s Word to all people.
We believe that all people are made in the image of God and that we have all sinned; no one measures up to God’s glory (Romans 3:23); we constantly err by trying to live our lives independently from God. We believe that we are justified by faith (Galatians 2:16) through Christ’s atonement for our sins on the cross of Calvary (John 3:16). Through our belief that all men and women are created in the image of God, we believe that all people have inherent worth and dignity, and we strive to uphold this. Mankind is fallen, but God offers us an opportunity to be reborn through a relationship with Jesus Christ. This is an ongoing process which has begun, yet will never be complete during our lives on earth. As such, we encourage each person toward ongoing spiritual, emotional, physical and mental development in relation to their design, purpose and potential, as they strive toward maturity within themselves and in their relationships with God and with others.
We believe that not only are men extremely valuable, but they also love metaphors and stories. Because of the tendency to remember concepts portrayed this way, it often makes application more likely. These avenues of presenting ideas combine thinking with feeling and often lead to a level of insight that is necessary for personal change.
Some men are more naturally bent toward appreciating this style of expression, while others are not. We realize that for some individuals, we may overplay a metaphor or choose one that may not meet their personal taste. However, we do believe men learning in this way or from this form of instruction -- as with all the Knights of the 21st Century material -- increase their emotional IQ's, and therefore we are willing to create some discomfort if it leads to a greater good for the men.
